Iranian cement exports rise 12% in under two years

The head of Iran’s Cement Industry Producers Association, Ali-Akbar Alvandian, said on Saturday that the country had exported 10.5Mt of cement in the first nine months of the Iranian calendar year 1402 (21 March-21 December 2023). Kerala cement plants handle 48,000t of non-recyclable waste

Cement plants located in India's southern state of Kerala received around 48,000t of non-recyclable waste generated within the state in 2023. The waste was used to provide refuse-derived energy for the cement facilities, according to The Hindu. Italian cement output started the year strongly, expanding 14 per cent YoY in January 2024, according to the Italian concrete association, Federbeton. Strong growth in Iran cement despite risks

Iranian cement consumption rose 15.2 per cent YoY in February 2024 to 4.93Mt, up from 4.28Mt, according to the Iranian cement association. Producers manufactured 5.13Mt of cement and 5.04Mt of clinker in February, an increase of 11.8 and 18.9 per cent, respectively, when compared with February 2023. Polish cement producers voice concern over Ukraine imports

The Association of Polish Cement Producers has raised concerns over the 350 per cent surge in cement imports from Ukraine. "The scale of imports from Ukraine is growing almost every month, reaching nearly 50 per cent of total imports in January 2024.
