Earlier this year an installation of a new pyro line including a state-of-the-art six-stage preheater with calciner was completed at Bartin Çimento, Turkey. Shortly after commissioning, Bartin Çimento and EPC contractor Bilim Makina confirmed that the measured parameters met all guarantees. This installation marked another milestone in Turkey, which is one of the few countries in Europe where new cement plants are presently being built. Frank Lichomski of IKN GmbH, Germany, takes us through the project.
In 2010 Bartin Çimento, a member of Sanko Holding, decided to replace its old wet kiln line with state-of-the-art equipment to increase production to 3000tpd while lowering specific heat consumption. The upgrade would take place adjacent to the operational wet kiln. After commissioning, the old kiln would then be taken out of operation and disassembled.
