As the housing market continues to exercise drag on Florida’s economy, the state’s cement market continues to lag the rest of the US. As the market recovers, ACC intends to make the necessary investments to allow for

a consistently-higher output than originally planned

American Cement Company, LLC  (ACC) is a joint venture between Oldcastle Materials Inc (CRH) and the Stavola family of New Jersey, USA.

Founded in 2005, ACC was formed to construct a modern cement manufacturing facility and market the product to the Florida market. At the time construction began in 2006, Florida’s consumption was over 10Mst of Portland cement.

Construction of the facility was completed in the last quarter of 2009 and the company started plant commissioning and commercial operations.

ACC’s original operations permit allowed the cement maker to produce 1.2Msta of cement. However, with cautious optimism, the company applied for and received permits to lift its capacity to 1.32Mst. As the market recovers, it intends to make the necessary investments to allow for a consistently-higher output than originally planned.
