Building a MENA strategy

Since being created by Citadel Capital in 2005, ASEC Cement has embarked on a strategy of establishing a strong presence in the high-growth markets of Egypt, Algeria, Syria, Sudan and Iraq to satisfy huge demand potential in these countries. In this exclusive interview with ICR, Giorgio Bodo, chairman and CEO of ASEC Cement, Tamer Yacout, director of business development at ASEC Cement, together with Ghada Hammouda, head of corporate communications and CMO of Citadel Capital (Egypt), discuss overcoming recent challenges in the MENA region, the impact on development plans and what the future holds.

The company is also growing its ready-mix capabilities as it furthers its vertical integration and supply of products to the market.
