JK Cement Ltd is one of India’s leading cement producers with four domestic grey cement plants and a newly-established presence in the UAE. The company has undertaken an ambitious plan to raise its Indian cement capacity substantially by 2017. The recent completion of its Mangrol brownfield expansion project in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan marks a key step towards this goal. JK Cement, headquartered in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, operates four grey cement plants in India, three of which are in the northern state of Rajasthan and the other in the southern state of Karnataka. In addition, the company operates 0.6Mta of white cement capacity at its Gotan works in Rajasthan and in a similarly-sized plant in Fujairah, UAE (see Table 1).
