Cemtech Rome - 17-20 September 2006 | Rome Cavalieri Hilton Hotel
Download Programme
The elegant and sumptuous Rome Cavalieri Hilton played host to this year's
Cemtech Conference and Exhibition widely regarded as its most successful
conference to date.
Around 400 delegates from 47 countries gathered in the heart of the
Eternal City for a comprehensive programme of events under the theme of
'Technology advances in global markets.' Two days of excellent presentations
featured a fine balance of regional market developments and more specific
technical issues relating to different areas of cement production and
distribution. Global and European cement industry trends came under the
spotlight from leading analysts, while the prospering markets of South Africa
and Iran also received special attention. Other presentations focused on updates
on new plant and upgrade projects, process technology and control systems, fuel
optimisation strategies, and slag cement developments in Europe.
A 65-stand exhibition area and four hospitality suites housed some of the
industry's leading suppliers and gave attendees an additional forum to network
and discuss some of the chief issues surrounding the global industry today.Once
again, Cemtech's unrivalled hospitality shone throughout as the conference
programme was complemented by some rather special social activities. During the
luncheons, and evening receptions, delegates were able to experience some
traditional Italian delights, the highlight of which culminated at the final
Gala dinner where delegates were treated to a powerful, moving and thoroughly
enjoyable operatic performance. Some of the attending wives and partners
participated in a comprehensive and compact tour of Rome which included many of
the astounding images and fabulous sights the historic city has to offer.
Two full plant tours rounded off the programme of events as some delegates had
the opportunity of visiting Buzzi Unicem's Guidonia plant while others tours
Colacem's Gubbio works which included an overnight stay and the chance to
explore the town of Gubbio. We hope you enjoy some of the photographic memories
shown below.
