Over 75 international delegates attended the April Cemtech - ICPA workshop at the Meridian hotel in Luxor Egypt. With the theme: Increasing Productivity, Expansion and Upgrade Opportunities, this two day event brought together over 10 well known industry speakers able to discuss the subject matter with authority before this senior audience. Presentations included full reports on the recent expansion and upgrades at Yanbu Cement, Saudi Arabia; Fujairah Cement, UAE; Helwan Cement, Egypt; Arabian Cement, Saudi Arabia and others. Dr Michael Clark, highlighted a range of options for increasing productivity at minimal expense, Tony Muckley gave a cogent presentation on effective project management, while environmental expert Philip Kerton, also described how environmental challenges could be converted into higher profitability levels.

A vist to the nearby Qena Cement works and excellent hospitality from the Cemtech - ICPA team, ably assisted by co-sponsorship by the ASEC Group, Egypt, all helped to ensure this meeting was a resounding success. Sincere thanks to all participants and speakers. Hopefully we shall all meet again this year at Cemtech Barcelona, 18-21 September.
