Cemtech Europe: 27-30th September 2009
Cemtech Conferences and Exhibitions has successfully concluded its 16th annual
European event between 27-30 September, attracting over 250 participants from 40
countries.
Held within the luxury of the Fairmont Hotel, Monte Carlo, Monaco, the three-day
event offered participants an in-depth programme comprising world-renowned
speakers, an international exhibition and unrivalled hospitality levels.
A first class speaker line-up provided a full range of business insight, market
knowledge and technical expertise. Topics under discussion this year included
issues relating to the future of the cement industry such as the ever increasing
demands set by the sustainability agenda as well as the medium-term
uncertainties of the global economic environment. Sessions were dedicated to
in-depth analysis of regional construction and cement markets, including Europe,
CIS countries and Africa. Trade and shipping developments were also highlighted,
as were knowledge and insight into the latest developments in cement
manufacturing technology.
A sizeable exhibition area enabled over 30 of the world’s key equipment
suppliers to the cement industry to share their knowledge and expertise. And, as
always, Cemtech’s hospitality levels were at their highest with delegates
treated to evening functions culminating in an unforgettable Gala Dinner
evening.
Proceedings were concluded with a tour of Ecocem’s recently completed 0.7Mta
slag grinding facility at Fos-Sur-Mer. This joint venture project between Ecocem
Materials and Arcelor Mittal will be the world’s first carbon neutral grinding
plant.
