Lafarge

Semen Andalas started initial production in late June at the new 1.6m tonnes per annum works, which should be fully operational in the final quarter of this year. This US$300m investment replaces the previous works that was destroyed by a tsunami in December, 2004 and increases the capacity by around 20%. Since the Semen Andalas works was destroyed, Lafarge has been supplying the local market through its international trading operations.
