The Holcim-controlled ACC has acquired Encore Cement & Additives, which operates a slag grinding plant at Vishakapatnam with an annual capacity of 0.2Mt.  January also saw the inauguration of the ACC Kudithini grinding centre, which has an annual cement capacity of 1.2Mt, and which is receiving its clinker supplies from ACC's Wadi works.  ACC's cement shipments in 2009 amounted to 21.36Mt, an increase of 4.8%.while Ambuja Cements, the other Indian cement group controlled by Holcim raised volumes by 6.1% to 18.83Mt last year.
