Semen Indonesia is one of three players in the Indonesian market suffering from falling cement prices in the wake of an influx of new players. According to a report by Trimegah Securities, the last couple of years have seen a number of new entrants to the market who are offering cement at prices up to 10 per cent below those of the country’s established manufacturers. The new players include Anhui Conch (1.55Mta), Pan Asia (2Mta), Siam Cement Group (1.9Mta), Cemindo Gemilang (4Mta) and Jui Shin Indonesia (2Mta).
