LafargeHolcim - April 2016

The Indian Holcim subsidiary ACC Ltd has completed the expansion of its Wadi works in the southern Indian state Karnataka to 13,000tpd. ACC Ltd delivered 9.3 per cent more cement in the first quarter of 2016 at 6.36Mt, while the turnover improved more modestly by 1.5 per cent to INR29.2738bn (EUR388.9m). EBITDA, however, dropped by 28.9 per cent to INR4.3359bn (EUR32.64m), but the pretax profit was ahead by 1.2 per cent to INR3.1397bn (EUR23.63m). Production costs were lower thanks to lower kiln fuel costs, partially reflecting an increased use of petcoke. The amount of ready-mixed concrete sold was increased by 13 per cent.
