Inert Gas plant

How do determine the capacity of Inert gas(Nitrogen) plant for a coal mill circuit. Is it based on the fine coal  hopper and baghouse volumes? Can any body share how to calculate this requirement? Thanking you : Biju

Re: Inert Gas plant

Yes, you need the volume of the bin and the baghouse. The system should flood the free space above the ffine coal in the bin. There must be facility to top up with nitrogen as the bin levels rises and falls.

There shoud also be reserve capacity. It is calculated as follows :

1. The maximum gas volume has to be stored min. 2-fold additional minimum reserve capacity.

2. The maximum gas volume has to be discharged out of the tanks’ gas phase within 60 minutes.
