Thank you very much Dr. Clark. I originally asked this question because we had a dust emission problem at stack and after your advice, I think our raw mill has overgrinded (kiln feed particles of 26 microns in average compared to 50 microns typically). I shall now put my focus on raw mill grindability. Do you think this is the correct approach?

Yes, that sounds reasonable and could mean excessive dust losses from the preheater. However, you should also check the operation of the dust collection equipment, either conditioning tower and electrostatic precipitator or bag filter. I would expect such devices to collect dust originating from raw meal of that fineness.
