Re: Maximum SO3 Permissible

Hi cement lover,

To answer your last question, the formula;- (1-((SO3)clinker/(SO3)hotmeal)) is the Sulphur Volatility Factor and is used to measure the degree of sulphur volatility in your process. Values of less than 0.7 for this factor are generally considered to be ideal.

Bad combustion (reducing) conditions will increase this factor and increase the tendency for blockages and rings in the bottom cyclones, smokebox and even spurrite rings near the kiln inlet.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Ted.

re Re: Maximum SO3 Permissible

Regarding maximum SO3

We are getting more than 2% SO3 in clinker which is white . we are using 100 % petcoke.

we are adding feldspar to absorb SO3 volatility . now how much felspar is required , how to calculate that?

what is the maximum permissible % of K2O,Na2O,SO3 & Cl in the hot meal & in the white clinker for operation without bypass?

what will be the limits with bypass operation?

Why we get 2 to 3 times of hot meal concentration of these oxides in the bypass ? Can we calculate the bypass composition & how?

re Re: Maximum SO3 Permissible

I have studied this problem and found the reason why in the presence of SO3 falls activity of cement (no appear C3S). In the presence of SO3 in clinker from 2 to 4.5% I was able to synthesize more 70% C3S. With SO3 in clinker from 12.0 to 14.0% I synthesized 55-65% C3S. I describe it in this book

Dear colleagues! I published an abridged version of paper "Features Of Synthesis Of C3S In High Sulfur clinker' in the magazin  "Concrete Technologies" and has written the English version of part 1 of paper in journal "Cement and Concrete Research", but I think they did not publish it, because Silastman is a poor scientist and cannot assist with sponsorship.

Abstract:

The results of thermodynamic analysis influence of clinker SO3 on synthesis of C3S, the technique of calculation of raw mix on formation in high sulfur clinker intermediate metastable phases are presented.

I offer the opportunity of free download the articles. I'm sorry for the bad English. Please check on the results in practice. Can help  with calculating the raw mix with high sulfate content.

P.S. I d't know why, but papers in pdf. d't attach. Please sent me your e.mail I send papers to your.
