Dear Komar,

 The position of Kiln Tires with respect to Rollers is different in Cold Condition & Hot Condition. Therefore, Roller width is kept higher as compared to that of tire.In normal working conditions when the Kiln is hot, if the kiln continues to run in one position there may be a groove formation on the roller. To avoid this kiln is floated up and down so that there is uniform wear on the surface of the roller.

Hey;

Our 2000 t/day kiln has run 7 days without floating up (due to a problem in the thrust pump) and during that stoppage we didnt face any problem. Can you please tell me what will happen if the kiln run without floating??
