MgO in Bypass dust

Kiln Bypass dust analysis has MgO content of 3.5 - 4.0 % wheras Kiln feed analysis shows Mgo of around 1.  In Clinker MgO is around 1.5. How is it possible.

MgO in Bypass dust

The Bypass dust showing 3.5 - 4.0 %, means it is not with respect to your Kiln Feed,

it is showing from the collected Bypass Dust, the  Concentration of MgO is 3.5 -4.0 %

If you want to better understand you do mass balance of your Kiln Feed, with your Loss on Ignition,

Otherwise send me the details like

1) Kiln Feed

2) Factor

3) Bypass Dust Collected in TPH

Re: MgO in Bypass dust

It looks like MgO is carried by the clay fraction, not in form of carbonate. You should look at your raw materials composition.
