To what degree is setting time retarded when C3A is only 8% or almost 7% and or vice versa 12%?

if C3A is higher than reaction of Ettringite formation will faster it will set quickly. dilip yadav

For OPC the requirement for C3A is 10%, please compare the setting time if the C3A content of cement is as given above. Thanks

Dear Friend Neorw In our OPC C3A~ 8.0 so setting time is ~135 (initial) and ~ 185 (final) while in case of PPC C3A is ~ 5.5 ( calculated by %CLN in PPC * %C3A in CLN) so setting time is 170 and 220 ( final)

 

So reducing C3A from 8.0 to 5.5 ~ 2.5 % 

 

increase setting time by 25-35 minute 

 

same correlation can be made for your cement ,please send me complete analysis of clinker and cement at my mail
