Separator Efficiency Formula derivation

can anybody send me the derivation of separator efficiency formula used by FLS.

A long log formula.

Also there are other two formulas for efficiency calculation based on recovery of fines & rejection of coarse.

Also send the derivation of the two.

thanks

It is difficult to answer your question since you do not provide us a reference for those 3 formulas you are talking about.

What is the purpose? Is it about interpreting experimental finesses data, is it about separator's theory, is about a standard mathematical curve to fit the separation curve (there are as many as you wished), is about grinding theory, ... ?

However, I doubt there should be any mystery in separator efficiency evaluations.
This is always based on mass balance for several particles sizes.
Didn't you get a suitable answer in your previous thread:

If not, please explain your need more clearly.

Can you explain the meaning of the symbols in these formulas?
I could answer with less effort, knowing that.
What are these Ro, Rg, Rf and Rm?
Also, what is the Vs supposed to represent?

My first impression is that the log formula would be based on an assumption regarding the size distribution at the entrance of the separator. I would guess it represents the ratio of fines actually collected to the amount of fines that could be collected. This would justify the word "efficiency". Calculations might be done assuming a Rosin-Rammler curve.

I will check later, in the hope that you can find the meaning of the symbols.
