refractory of inlet slope

we have observed that when ever our inlet slope refrectory  is damage our bypass quantity have been increased  kindly can you explain about the angle of feed pipe and inlet slope how referectory should be installed remind you we are using high silica carbide castable at inlet kindly explain by sketch or DWG>
