Dear Ted

question for TED

is it good to put limestone on coal aroud 2%, the target is to get  CaO on caol ash ( 10- 15% Cao in caol ash)

We note that caol without CaO in ash gives rings in kiln.

re caol

Hello yndiaye,

I have never heard of this problem before. Generally, adding anything to the coal stockpiles, other than another solid fuel of comparable ash and energy content, could potentially cause problems by introducing short term variations in the coal quality fed to the kiln.

Are you talking about the raw coal having 10-15% CaO in the ash, or the fine coal?

Regards,

Ted.
