Vietnam’s cement consumption stood at 39.1Mt in the first 10 months of this year, fulfilling 71% of the sector’s whole-year target.

In October, the country’s cement consumption fell to 3.54Mt due to the rainy season in the second quarter and a slowdown in the real estate market, the Ministry of Construction said on its website.

The Southeast Asian nation cement production stood at 3.63Mt in October, raising the country’s total production in the 10-month period to 39.4Mt, meeting 72.3% of the country’s whole year targets.

Vietnam spent US$367.2m on cement imports and reaped US$204m from cement exports in the first 10 months of this year, fulfilling 44.7% and 60.2% of the country’s whole-year targets, respectively.
