Birla Corporation takes steps to restart Chanderia unit, India
Following an order by the High Court ordering the Birla Corporation to suspend limestone mining at the company’s Chanderia plant, the next date for a hearing has been fixed for 10 December 2011.
In the mean time, although the production of clinker has stopped due to the suspension of mining, the company has made moves to procure limestone from nearby sources. Once the limestone stock reaches a reasonable level, kiln(s) will be reactivated in phases to produce clinker.
Meanwhile, the company continues to produce cement by procuring clinker from its Satna Unit and also from other sources. Published under Cement News
