Puerto Pérez to build a cement factory?, Bolivia
The mayor of Puerto Perez, the department of La Paz, aims to build a cement plant with the objective of generating employment for locals.
Information provided by Councillor Marcelino Duran, noted that the municipality has sufficient limestone deposits.
According to projections from the Mayor’s Office, the factory would have a production of 1,500 bags per day, the administration would be a partnership, between the government, which would have 40 per cent, and the municipal government 60 per cent.
"The draft was sent to China and we are awaiting a response to sign the agreement, including the information we already have the government’s environmental permit and we are dealing with legal personality," explained the councilman.
