To reduce and offset the environmental impact of its operations in the country, Cementos Argos has decided to implement reforestation projects, which have recovered 2750ha with an investment of US$12,350m.

Thanks to this environmental focus, a major part of the company’s responsibility strategy, the CO2 capture project, has been registered for the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Thus, Argos has become the first cement company which has a forestry project registered with the United Nations, set in the Clean Development Mechanism-CDM-regulated by the Kyoto Protocol.
