Messebo factory expansion inaugurated, Ethiopia
Messebo Cement Factory’s expansion project was inaugurated on 25 June 2011 in the presence of Ethiopia Prime Minister Meles Zenawi.
During his address, Mr Zenawi noted that the new capacity would play a key role in addressing a cement shortage in the country.
General Manager of Messebo Cement Factory, Hatsey Berhe, said the expansion project alone would enable the factory to produce 3,000tpd of cement and 1.3Mta.
The expansion project was undertaken by a Chinese company named Hefi Cement Research and Design Institute, he said.
