13 June 2011

The Goa government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ACC Cement to consume all its plastic and rubber waste, state environment minister Aleixo Sequeira said today.

The minister said that all the village panchayats and municipal bodies will be asked to collect the plastic, rubber and thermacol and hand it over to a government appointed agency that would transport it to ACC’s operation in Kartanaka. Under the MoU, the contract will be in place for three years.
