Argentina March sales rise

After the 3.7 per cent monthly decline witnessed in February, Argentina shipped 924,684t in March (including exports) which represented a MoM improvement of 10.9 per cent and an annual rise of 3.1 per cent.



According to provisional data from the Association of Portland Cement Manufacturers (AFCP), domestic shipments totaled 911,933t, 11.3 per cent more than February and 4.6 per cent above the March 2010 figures.



In the first quarter, cement deliveries totaled 2.6Mt, a rise of 10.75 per cent than the same period of 2010, while domestic consumption increased 11.9 per cent to 2.6Mt.

Last year, total Argentine shipments reached a record 10.46Mt, translating to a 10.7 per cent recovery over 2009. For this year, AFCP forecasts this figure to reach 11Mt.
