PIBT seeks contractors for cement terminal, Pakistan

Pakistan International Bulk Terminals (PIBT) has commenced prequalification of contractors for off- and on-shore construction works for its new coal, cement and clinker terminal at Port Qasim, Karachi.
 
The project, managed by EA Consulting, will be awarded as a design/build contract.

The scope of works includes the construction of a jetty, trestle bridge, dredging, reclamation of terminal storage area, cement silos, powerhouse and infrastructure for the terminal.



It is Pakistan’s first dedicated bulk cargo handling facility of its kind and will handle a capacity of up to 8Mta. Construction is scheduled to take three years at an estimated cost of US$140m.
