Dominican Republic’s cement makers grouped in ADOCEM presented its annual report for 2010 on Monday, which reveals that it exports around 25% of its annual production and the sector’s impact on the local economy.

The cement makers cited advances in foreign trade for their robust exports, and stressed their support for the environment and its social performance.

“This document that we present today reveals a productive sector that works with the commitment to obtain continuous growth. It’s for that reason that at present, our country counts on a solid, reliable and competitive cement industry, with a commitment that allows us to see the future with optimism,” said ADOCEM Executive Director Julissa Báez in an activity for the press and associates.

Baez affirmed that the significant increase in cement production paved the way for exports, mainly to countries of the Caribbean region.
