Siam Cement PC plans to spend THB30bn (US$991.4m) from now to 2015 to raise its cement production capacity in the ASEAN region excluding Thailand, Bangkok Post reported Friday, citing SCG Cement President Pramote Techasupatkul.

Thailand’s largest industrial conglomerate by revenue plans to raise its cement capacity to 6Mta from 1Mta at present in this region, Pramote said.

The company has studied the possibility of cement production in Vietnam, in addition to a plan to build a new factory in Indonesia and a second unit at its Kampot plant in Cambodia, he said in the report.
