Qatar National Cement Company (QNCC) is installing another mill with a capacity of 230tph. The firm is also replacing the old mills at its Plant I as part of enhancing production in tandem with the country’s infrastructure requirements.

“The company will continue to meet the local market demand for different kinds of cement, washed sand and both kinds of lime (calcined and hydrated) with timely increase in production capacity, commensurate with the macro development plans of the state,” QNCC chairman and managing director Salem Butti al-Naimi said.

He was addressing the shareholders at the annual general assembly, which approved the 60% cash dividend and 10% bonus stocks as well as the net profit of QR467m.

In 2010, QNCC’s Plant IV became fully operational with a cement capacity of 5000tpd of clinker. Last year the company’s cement production reached 3.8Mta.
