20 January 2011

India’s Supreme Court on Monday directed the Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APPGC) to supply fly ash to cement firms Zuari Cement and India Cement at INR250/t (US$5.48).

Allowing the appeal of cement firms, a bench comprising Justices RV Raveendran and AK Patnaik asked the producers to pay APPGC INR250/t till the dispute over pricing among them is decided by the High Court of Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the Apex Court also made clear that the INR250 fixed by it would be subject to the final order passed by the High Court, where the issue is still pending.
