Portugal’s competition watchdog Autoridade da Concorrencia (AdC) has started analysing the deal of the acquisition of concrete firm Lafarge Betoes by Portuguese lime and cement producer Secil.

Secil signed an agreement for the acquisition of 100% in Lafarge Betoes for EUR65m (US$87.5m) at the end of December 2010. The deal was announced by Secil’s parent group Semapa.

Lafarge Betoes operates in the concrete and aggregates segment, holding 30 concrete plants and four aggregates facilities.
