Peruvian imports to exceed 1Mt
Cement imports this year will exceed 1Mt, driven by demand growth, which rose 22.9% between January and November 2010.
Last year 952,197t of different types of cement were imported: grey and white clinker. If this figure is applied to the forecast growth of construction sector in 2011 (10%), it shows that imports look set to exceed 1,047,416t.
The amount imported last year was equivalent to 12.9% of total domestic cement dispatches, which, according to ASOCEM, totalled 8.1Mt in 2010. Published under Cement News
