Vietnam demand forecast to rise to 56Mt
13 January 2011

Vietnam is forecast to use 56Mt of cement in 2011, up nine per cent from a year earlier.

The country’s cement production is forecast to reach to 65.8Mt due to the additional operation of 10 cement plants with a combined capacity of 15Mta, the Vietnam Cement Association said.

Vietnam’s cement sales stood at 50.21Mt in 2010, including used 5.08Mt in December, fulfilling 100% of the sector’s whole-year target.

The country’s cement price is expected to be stable in 2011 due to higher supply.
