Ancap to increase production by 50%, Uruguay

Uruguay’s state oil company Ancap will invest US$70m during 2011 to reach cement production of 1Mta, a spokesperson told BNamericas.



The expenditure forms part of the firm’s US$210mn investment budget approved by legislators to for 2011, according to the spokesperson.



Ancap will expand production at its cement plants in departments Paysandu and Lavalleja, increasing its current production capacity by 50 per cent. The firm will also invest US$40m in a lime plant in Treinta y Tres department.
