Cemex loses injunction to stop antitrust case – report
09 December 2010

Cemex had a court injunction overturned by a Mexico City judge, allowing an antitrust case against the cement maker to move forward, El Semanario reported.

Cemex had obtained the injunction in a Monterrey court to halt the Mexican antitrust agency’s investigation of the domestic cement market, El Semanario said on its website.

In preliminary findings released in March 2009, the agency said that Cemex, the Mexican unit of Holcim Ltd., Cooperativa La Cruz Azul and Corp. Moctezuma SAB may have fixed cement prices, defined market shares and segmented the market by region, El Semanario reported.

Gerardo de la Torre, a spokesman for Cemex, declined to comment immediately to Bloomberg News about the El Semanario article.
