Lafarge proposes Meghalaya plant, India

Lafarge India Eastern, which is a wholly owned arm of Lafarge India, has chalked out an ambitious plan to set up a 1.1Mta integrated cement plant at Nongkhleih in the limestone rich Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya at a staggering investment of INR1,000 crore. The cement project, which would be the biggest private sector investment in the north eastern region, is currently crossing various stages of clearances.
