Ha Tien 1 cement plant begins operation, Vietnam

Ha Tien 1 Cement Joint Stock Company (HT1) started operating a cement plant worth VND5.4trn (US$276.92m) in the southern province of Binh Phuoc on November 26.

Binh Phuoc cement plant covering 78ha in Thanh Luong commune, Binh Long district has an annual capacity of 1.8Mt of clinker and 1.3Mt of cement, the Tuoi tre newspaper reported.

HT1, completing the acquisition of Ha Tien 2 Cement JSC (HT2) in July, now has a registered capital of VND1.98trn, ranking among 50 biggest stocks on the local stock market.

The cement firm targets a pretax profit of VND320bn, and a dividend payout equivalent to VND500/share in 2010.
