Holcim Ecuador is expanding its plant in Guayaquil to increase its production capacity from 3.5Mt to 5.4Mt of cement, which is expected to be completed in late 2011.

As part of the works, the company installed a German mill and two concrete silos, one of 70m for the storage of 70,000t of clinker and the other, 50m high, to store 10,000t of cement. In addition to these structures, the project includes the assembly of other equipment. At the time, the extension works are advanced by 12%.
