Vietnam cement demand forecast to rise 10% in 2011

Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has predicted Vietnam’s demand for cement and steel will increase about 10% next year, state media reported.

Vietnam is forecast to consume between 12.5Mt and 12.8Mt of steel products in 2011, up 8% and 10% from a year earlier, the MOIT was cited by the Vietnam News Agency as saying Monday.

The country’s demand for cement will rise about 10% YoY to 55Mt and 56Mt next year and its cement output will reach 60Mt the ministry gave the forecast based on Vietnam’s economic growth expectations for the 2011-2015 period.
