Libya, Syria establishing a joint cement factory

Libya, Syria are preparing a draft agreement on establishing a joint-company to set up a cement factory in Syria , reports according to Syrian-Libyan Strategic Cooperation Council.

Syrian Finance Minister Mohammad al-Hussein discussed with Secretary of the General People’s Congress in Libya Muhammad al-ZUWAYY the standing relations between the two brotherly countries and means of bolstering them, reports Syrian News Agency.



Al-Hussein also reviewed with Secretary of the General People’s Committee of Libya al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi the outcomes of the 1st and 2nd meetings of the Syrian-Libyan Strategic Cooperation Council follow-up committee and preparing documents related to the legal framework of cooperation to form the agenda of the Strategic Cooperation Council.

The two sides agreed to hold a meeting chairing the Syrian-Libyan Strategic Cooperation Council due in Damascus in December.



The two sides also agreed to hold a businessmen forum in the two countries on the sidelines of the chairmanship meeting so as to carry out feasible projects in various economic fields, establishing joint companies and small and mid-sized projects.

The two sides underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation in economic and trade fields, scaling up joint bilateral investments and developing the work of joint companies.
