Saudi cement companies production increases.?
Total production of the 10 cement companies operating in Saudi Arabia during 2009 stood at about 31.98Mt from 29.66Mt in corresponding period last year - thus recording a rise of 7.8 per cent over the preceding year.
According to data released by Saudi Arabia Monetary Agency, in terms of output, the Saudi Cement Company ranked first, translating 17.4 per cent of the total production (5.575 Mt).
Southern Region Cement Co ranked second with 16.1 per cent (5.158 Mt), followed by Yamamah Cement Company, Yanbu Cement, and Al-Qassim Cement, which accounted for 15.6 per cent (4.993Mt), 13.3 per cent (4.25Mt) and 12.3 per cent (3.92Mt) respectively.
The five companies contributed 74.7 per cent of the Saudi Arabia total cement output.
The other five companies, produced the rest of the production, with the Eastern Region Cement Co, and the Arabian Cement Co, accounting for 9.4 per cent of production each (2.996Mt); Tabuk Cement Co, (1.3Mt) the National Gypsum Co (578,000t) and the Saudi White Cement Co, (157,000t) accounted for 4.1 per cent, 1.8 per cent, and 0.6 per cent respectively of the total production.
Cement sales in the domestic markets stood at 31.1 Mt, or 97.4 per cent of total production. Published under Cement News
