Firms sign clinker export deal to Bangladesh
Hoang Phat Vissai Group Company Ltd has signed deal with Hong Kong’s Peakward Enterprises Holdings Ltd. to export 1.2Mt of clinker to Bangladesh, the country’s biggest of cement export contract so far.
Under the contract worth VND1 trillion ($51.28m) signed Sept 23, Hoang Phat Vissai Group will export 100,000t per month to Bangladesh, the group said on its website.
The first shipment will be implemented on October 1.
On July 29, the company exported the first batch under a 100,000t clinker export contract to the Philippines.
The group has exported two batches of cement with a total volume of 120,000 tons to Bangladesh since early this year.
The Vissai cement plant has an annual designed capacity of 3.6Mt of clinker with its main products of PCB 30, PCB40 cement and Cpc50 clinker.
In early August, Cong Thanh Joint Stock Company also exported 30,000t of clinker to China via Nghi Son port in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa.
Vietnam firms have exported cement to America, Africa, Asian countries and the Middle East in recent years but the volumes remain modest.
