The construction output dropped a seasonally adjusted 3.1% on a monthly basis in July, compared to a 1.08 per cent rise in the previous month, a report by the Eurostat showed on Friday. The construction output in June month was revised from 2.7 per cent rise estimated initially. Output had decreased 0.9 per cent in May.

Year-on-year, the construction production decreased 7.5 per cent in July, compared to a 1.9 per cent growth in the preceding month, which was revised from 3.1 per cent rise estimated initially. At the same time, building construction dropped 7.9 per cent following a 4.6 per cent rise in June. Civil engineering declined six per cent, compared to a 6.5 per cent fall in the previous month.

In EU27, the construction output fell a seasonally adjusted 2.5 per cent month-on-month in July, compared to a 2.6 per cent rise in the previous month. Annually, the construction output dropped 2.3 per cent.
