Iran sees 18% growth in production

In the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21) over 25.5Mt of cement has been produced in the country.

IRNA news agency cited a report by the ministry of mines and industry stating the country’s industry sector has witnessed an 18 per cent growth in cement production compared to the same period last year. 

In the month of Mordad (July 22 to August 22) over 5.5 million tons was produced which is 15.5 percent more than the year before. 

In this period 24.4Mt of clinker was produced in the country which is 21 per cent more than last year. 

This year Mordad 4.85Mt of clinker was produced in the country which shows 23 per cent increase compared to the month of Mordad last year. 

During the five month period some 3Mt of cement and 858,000t of clinker was exported from Iran and in Mordad alone over 650,000t of cement and 185,000t of clinker were exported.
