Continental Cement Company layoffs
01 September 2010

Another Tri-State area company is confirming layoffs at its facility and managers say a low demand for their product is to blame.

28 workers at the Continental Cement Company in Hannibal got the pink slip last week.

This is the second layoff at the Hannibal company this year and the first since Summit Materials out of Washington D.C. took over the company.

With this latest layoff, there are now fewer than 200 people at the Hannibal plant.
