Indonesia’s Gresik to lift cement capacity in 2011

Indonesian cement maker PT Semen Gresik expects to increase production in 2011 when its new plant in Sulawesi becomes operational. The new plant, currently still under construction, would raise the company’s production capacity to 20.5Mt, PT Semen Gresik President Director Dwi Sutjipto said at a press conference on the sidelines of Investor Day on Thursday.

At the end of 2010, PT Semen Gresik would have a production capacity of 19.5Mt, he said.

In 2012, production capacity was expected to go up to 24Mt when construction of the company`s new plant in Java was completed, he said.
