Technology and equipment contracts to build the Do Luong Cement Plant in the central province of Nghe An were signed in Hanoi on July 13 between the Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (Lilama) and two contractors from China and Germany.

The Tianjin Cement Industry Design and Research Institute (TCDRI) will provide technology and equipment services worth US$19.4m, including technology design, test services, training for technology transfer and equipment for heat exchange towers and the kiln system.

The second bidding package worth EUR8.7m will be carried out by Loesche GmbH of Germany.

Loesche GmbH has provided grinding machines for a number of cement plants in Vietnam, including Nghi Son, Cong Thanh, Cam Pha, But Son 1 and 2 and Binh Phuoc.

Once completed, the plant will contribute to raising the industry’s outputs and generating jobs for a large number of local people.
